Moonlight State Beach, one of California's best beaches, is flat, sandy, and perfect for a day of sunning or people-watching from the patio. The early morning surfing and fishing are out of this world. The athletically inclined will find some serious volleyball at the three beach courts.

The beach is well-monitored by lifeguards and has a nice playground, clean restrooms, and outdoor showers, and the ever entertaining fire rings. It also has a snack bar, which comes in handy for a quick treat like soda or ice cream.
