Is Moonlight State Beach, the beach that is flat, sandy, and perfect for a day of sunning or people watching from the patio. The early morning surf fishing is out of this world. The beach is well monitored by lifeguards and has a nice playground, clean plentiful restrooms, and outdoor showers, and the ever entertaining fire rings.
It also has a snack bar, which comes in handy for a quick treat like soda or ice cream. The athletically inclined will find some serious volleyball at the three beach courts. A few blocks west of us is downtown city of Encinitas.

For the surfer there is Swami's Beach, which was forever immortalized in the Beach Boys Surfin USA. This beach is a surfer's heaven! Great scuba diving is just offshore from Swami's at the Encinitas Marine Life Refuge, North County's only underwater park.
